I created this simple album focusing on keeping my die cut elements large, my photos about wallet sized and using bright colors. I used all cardstock so I kept costs down but was able to keep colors on each page.

Using a plain album, I decided that using spray mist would help me add background color, without the difficulty of trimming off paper at the edges of the cover.

I used a lime and a jack frost color, then added in a spray and larger drops of turquoise across the front and back of the album. There is a touch of glitz as well. Then I cut some bright colorful letters for the title, adding in a bright sun as well, and I used brown for the rest of the title, so it would stand out, but not be the strongest color on the front.

I created the inside album pages by cutting 8.5 x 11 paper to fit, punching holes where I would thread the album together later. Next, I thought about which photos I wanted to use, printed them out and searched in Cricut Craft Room for images to go along with my page.

Details on each page include banner pieces. These are easily cut from strips of paper that with a triangle shape notched out from the ends with scissors. Add bright coordinating buttons tied with twine bows. I kept my journaling simple, handwriting it with a journaling pen.

Simple, easy, and colorful. I hope you have enjoyed my summer album. I have left space to add more pages as we continue our summer activities.

Take care!

Tutorial for How to Make a Box using Our Box Templates:

small, sharp scissors
bone folder
glue stick or double sided tape
thick paper or cardstock
plastic page protectors (optional)

Instructions for Blank Templates

For blank templates, you can print on any cardstock of your choosing to create a truly custom look!

1. Print your box template using any of our free box templates.

2. Cut template along solid lines.

3. Score template along dotted lines.

4. Fold paper inward so that the lines remain on the inside of the box.

5. Apply adhesive to small flap (some boxes have more than one small flap that will need glue/tape).

6. Finish assembling the box.

Instructions for Designer Templates

Designer templates are perfect for those with limited time and/or paper supplies. These templates have the designs printed directly on them so all you need is plain white cardstock. Because there are no lines printed on designer templates, you will also need to print out a matching blank template on regular paper to use as a guide.

1. Print pre-designed box on cardstock and corresponding template on plain paper.

2. Cut out both templates following solid lines.

3. Align the blank template with the back-side of the printed template.

4. Use bone folder to score on dotted lines (while keeping the two templates aligned).

5. Remove the blank template and you should see your lines on the back of the printed paper.

6. Assemble as usual.

The holidays have come and gone . . .gifts have been given and the decorations are beginning to come down. If you received something that you would like to send a special Thank You for I have an idea for you today. This would work well for friend’s, neighbors, co-workers, teachers, etc. In my case it’s going to an online friend of mine who is very dear to my heart! She has done so much for me this past year and I’m excited to send this little thank you her way!

For these designs I used a few Cricut Design Software programs. I just love them. They are so easy to use and work perfect with Sure Cut’s alot 2 or Make The Cut software. I used the Biscotti font. If you search my blog, you can find another post with a link to download it.

I ended up taking Bazzill Smooth Card stock and adhered white vinyl to it. Placed the 12×12 card stock, vinyl side down on the cutting mat. I used a pink Cri-Kit gel pen to write out the invite in Sure Cut’s a lot 2 and then cut it out. I know that you can’t really tell from the picture, but the white vinyl side, makes it look just like a bowling pin. I topped it off with a couple of strips of red vinyl. I think they turned out great.

Here is the file/ SVG file. I could have made it wider, the choice is yours if you want to re-size it. I liked it this way, because it looked more like a real bowling pin.
